As part of this PhD-Project, the candidate will investigate the impact of preconceptional maternal obesity and underlying pathways of embryonic, fetal and newborn health. The study will be conducted in the unique and ongoing Rotterdam Periconceptional Cohort (Predict study). The Predict study is designed as a tertiary hospital-based, prospective open birth cohort study. Embryonic, fetal and newborn health will be investigated longitudinally using state-of-the-art imaging techniques like three-dimensional ultrasound and virtual reality techniques.
